Sparring

Sparring class is where students take the tools and techniques they have learned in class and put them to use with safe and controlled live partner drills led by experienced instructors. In order to participate in sparring classes, you must have a full set of sparring gear, and have a yellow/white belt or higher ranking.

If you are serious about being able to protect yourself and/or competing, then sparring class is for you! This is a safe controlled environment for you to play with and experience the skills and techniques learned in class. The focus of sparring class is to hone the body mechanics, calm the mind, and drive the skills learned into the subconsious mind so that you don't have to think in a compromising situation - you just act, efficiently and effectively, to secure your personal safety.

Here at Meng's of Richmond, all of our instructors have competed in events ranging from local competitions to National and International events, and are more than happy to share that experience with you!
